nj dumpster rental frequently asked questions

How much can I put in the dumpster?

You can fill the dumpster to the top. All items must fit inside the dumpster, level with the top and no items stick out. The reason for this is so a tarp can cover the load while it is being transported as required by law.

What items cannot be placed in the dumpster?

The easiest rule of thumb is do not place anything in the dumpster that is flammable, toxic, or hazardous. For more details, see our blog post about what NOT to throw away in a rented dumpster.

How long do I get to keep the dumpster?

Select a Monday through Saturday delivery date. You will also select a Monday through Friday pickup date. You may keep the dumpster up to 7 days. An additional week may be purchased for $100 per week or $15 per day.

Can the dumpster be parked on the street or public area?

Yes, if you have a permit. If you do not have a permit, the dumpster must be parked on private property. It is best to place it on the driveway, however it can be placed in a yard. Although we always place wood under the dumpster wheels, steel wheels will most likely leave ruts in a yard or on dirt.

How do I pay for the dumpster?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, check or COD.

Are there any additional fees?

If you follow the terms of the agreement, there are no additional fees. If you go over the weight limit for the size dumpster you select, you will pay $112 per ton over the weight limit. Excessive weight will require a second dumpster to be ordered and the debris distributed between the 2 dumpsters.  This is because our trucks have maximum weight limits for them to operate safely. If you fill the dumpster with Non-Approved Items, you will be responsible for any fines and clean up charges issued by the landfill, City, State, or Federal agencies.

What if I decide I want the dumpster moved to another location?

If it is on the same property, there would be a $150-200 + tax relocation fee. Each additional trip for your dumpster will be an additional cost.

Can the dumpster be emptied and returned to my house during the week?

Yes, for an additional fee, an empty container will be provided.

Will I be contacted prior to delivery?

Yes. Upon request, if you provide us with a cell phone number when placing your order and we will call or text you the morning of the delivery date.

What if I want to cancel my order?

If we are in route to the delivery, there is a trip charge amount which depends on the distance.

When I rent a dumpster, will it be cleaned out? Will it smell bad?

We know your driveway is not a construction site. Our dumpsters are thoroughly cleaned before they are placed at your home. You’ll never get a stinky dumpster!

Can you rent a dumpster for yard waste?

Yes! Removing yard waste and and landscaping debris is a common use for roll off dumpsters.

Does the dumpster have a door on it?

Yes! All dumpsters that we rent have a door that swings open on one end. All you do is lift a locking handle, and the door will swing outward.
